The Peninsula Manila Turns Pink for a Cause This October - Luxe Living

Every October, premiere luxury hotel The Peninsula Manila turns pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Currently on its eighth year, the Peninsula in Pink Campaign aims to raise funds and awareness for the Philippine Foundation for Breast Care, Inc. through memorable promos and pink-infused dining experiences.

“In Southeast Asia, the Philippines has the highest incidence of breast cancer,” shared Mr. Mark Choon, The Peninsula Manila’s General Manager. “One in every 13 Filipinos fall victim to it and as a man, a brother, a son, a husband and the general manager of an institution that has worked for 42 years with various local organizations to help make a difference in the lives of Filipino people, I believe very strongly in the fight against this terrible disease.”

Estée Lauder Companies
has returned as a partner for this year’s event. Their own campaign called Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) has been devoted to defeating breast cancer through education and medical research. At the end of last year’s The Peninsula in Pink campaign, the hotel and Estée Lauder held a celebration with patients at the newly refurbished Breast Care Center of the government-run East Medical Center. The hospital, which is supported by this campaign, serves 30-50 patients (in a space that once accommodated only 20).
