June 14, 2018
Dubai-based designer Furne One’s fashion show at the MEGA Millennial Ball last June 12, 2018 at the Marquis Events Place had fashion lovers frothing at the mouth. One has come back to his roots with the recent MEGA show, reuniting with the magazine after 24 years. As the spotlights turned on and the chorale powerful sung, the show began as if we were going to church. Only a designer with the strengths and particular allure of Furne One could command such a performance on the runway. As models strutted down the stage in masterfully designed couture outfits, guests stared in awe as they experienced fashion nirvana. MEGA describes the show as one of “his most expensive and most glamourous” yet. To add a little extra pizzazz, One invited friend and celebrity icon Vice Ganda to close his show in a short, lace dress. Don’t believe us? Scroll down and see some of the runway looks that ranged from short dresses to veils, bishop sleeves to fur capes, and fringe to intricate detailing…
It was only fitting that One returns to Manila as the featured designer in an Independence Day ball. For the past 25 years, he has been impressing the world with his Filipino craftsmanship. International stars such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez have worn Furne One pieces. He rose to prominence in the mid-90s, after winning MEGA’s Young Designer Competition in 1994, which allowed him the opportunity to be mentored by seminal designer Josie Natori. He then fell in love with city of Dubai, where he built Amato Couture. Today, he is an international-renowned fashion designer with adoring fans everywhere.
