It is universally known that a nice, hearty glass of wine can cure even the worst of moods. Now, imagine the same scenario, but with a glass of one of the best wines from the world’s finest vineyards. A cause for celebration? Marketplace by Rustan’s thinks so too, which is why they they held The World of Wine Fair last September 29 to October 1 at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium, which continued in-store at Marketplace by Rustan’s until October 8.
Twelve highly-respected winemakers from Australia, France, Spain, and Argentina conglomerated to bring their best bottles to the fair, as well as share their expertise on the vast, incredibly alluring business of making wine. Attendees were graced with the presence of notable sommeliers such as Laurent Barrier from Château Pey Mallet in France, Christopher Buckland-Smith from Wines Overland, Anthony Murphy from the Trentham winery in Australia, Laurent Mery from Château Lamothe-Bergero in France, Pablo Aranda Hynes from Grupo Penaflor in Argentina, Elena Hernandez from the Tempore winery in Spain , and Mark Davidson from the Tamburlaine winery in Australia, to name a few.
Other sommeliers present in the event were Graham Cranswick Smith from the Cranswick winery, Sam Mete from the Robert Oatley Vineyards, and Michael Rogers from Wines Overland.
The World of Wine fair also featured a wine list curated meticulously by Marketplace by Rustan’s, containing quality choices from the rarest bottles in the world such as the 2010 Château Leoville-Las Cases Saint Julien 2 Cru Classe, the 1994 Château Leoville-Las Cases Saint Julien 2 Cru Classe, the 2003 Château Nenin Pomerol, the 2004 Clos du Marquis Saint Julien, and the 2008 Clos du Marquis Saint Julien, all of which were sold exclusively in the event only.
Marketplace by Rustan’s brought a taste of the best wines from the world’s finest vineyards and served some of the finest cheeses to pair it with at The World of Wine VIP Night, held last September 28 at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium. The celebration also continues in-store until October 8.
