The Peninsula Manila Celebrates 40 Glorious Years

One could not help but feel nostalgic at The Peninsula Manila Anniversary Gala where Manila’s finest gathered at the lobby of the historic hotel to celebrate 40 glorious years of excellence. Men in black ties and women in their most beautiful gowns adorned in their finest jewels walked around the lobby with champagne in hand nibbling on some of The Peninsula Manila’s most delectable dishes such as Wagyu Beef Wellington, Pan Fried Foie Gras and Tuna sashimi, Lobster Penne and Caviar. Some guests found their way to the other food establishments that were open to everyone who wanted to simply sit down and relax. The common sentiment of everyone is that its feels like home.

The program began with speeches led by the Hon. Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited. Soon after Lea Salonga took the stage and serenaded the well-healed guests with Broadway hits such as I Dreamed A Dream and I’d Give My Life For You. Mel Villena and the AMP Band took over and kept the party going with their signature big band repertoire that kept the guests dancing all through out the night making it a night to remember for years.
