It was a Hollywood inspired birthday at the City Club at Alphaland Makati Place when Annika Valdes celebrated her 18th birthday.
Parents Dennis and Tessa Valdes pulled out all the stops to create a memorable celebration for their eldest daughter as they transformed the venue into comic con of epic proportions. Each side of the venue was set up in different vignettes depicting various scenes from some of Hollywood’s biggest movies such as Harry Potter’s corner where three long tables illuminated by candles floating and big portraits hanging on the walls like in Hogwart’s School of Magic. Uncle Gerard Sison, dressed as Albus Dumbledore emceed the event.
The Valdes family all came as characters from Alice in Wonderland. Tessa as the White Rabbit, Dennis as The Mad Hatter, Athena as Alice and Bryan as the Cheshire Cat welcomed the guests to the wonderful world of Annika who entered the venue as the Queen Of Hearts. She later transformed into Black Widow from the Avengers and the Bride form Kill Bill.
Guests came in full costume depicting their favorite movie characters such as Queen Amidala, Darth Vader, the Minions from Despicable Me, Obi wan Kanobi and Hans Solo from Star Wars, some dressed up as characters from The Pirates of The Caribbean. Musical performances by classical singer Jade Riccio and dance numbers by two dance groups added entertainment to the festivities that led to an after party that lasted all through out the night.
