An Afternoon of Italian Heritage: The FILA Polo Cup 2017 -

Guests arrived at the Manila Polo Club in the pastel colors of Italian summer clothes for the annual FILA Polo Cup. This year’s theme was Heritage x Vintage, harkening to FILA’s roots in Italy.  The spectators watched the games beneath the white tents decorated with fresh flowers and wine bottle accents created by Robert Blancaflor. There was overflowing champagne from Ralph’s Wines & Spirits passed around even before the Low Goal game started. Throughout the afternoon, cocktails, pizzas, burgers and pastas were served.

FILA’s Cris Albert did the ceremonial ball toss for the High Goal game, which was won by brothers Gus and Cole Aguirre and two Argentinean players. After the match, a waiters parade carried in the buffet set up on the field. It was open bar under the stars with a fireworks display at the end of the evening. This year’s FILA Cup was for the benefit of Operation Compassion and iFoster, two organizations very close to FILA chairman Butch Albert’s heart.
