Alice Walton Is The New Richest Woman In The World -

It is hard to be a woman in a man’s world, yet somehow a few of the strongest and most resilient are able to rise above and prove that they are just as apt as the patriarchy.

This article is a celebration of one of those women.

Now ruling the spot of the late Liliane Bettencourt—former heiress of L’Oreal cosmetics with a net worth of 33 Billion Euros, is none other than Alice Walton—only daughter of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton. With a net worth of over $41.8 Billion, she now stands as the richest and most powerful woman in the world.

The heiress and art curator has done a superb job in maintaining the legacy of her late father over the years, but the silver haired girlboss is now pouring all her energy into the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, a passion project which now stands tall in her hometown Bentonville, Arkansas.

Ever since its 2011 opening, the museum which houses a collection worth over $500 million has already gained a foot traffic of over a million visitors—a big feat for an establishment set in a tiny town of roughly 40,000.

Recently added to the list of the world’s ten most important collectors, Alice is making her name bigger– this time in the world of art. At the not-so-ripe age of 68, Alice Walton seemingly has no plans of stopping—and that is something we’re really excited about.
