A Taste of Brazil -
August 19, 2016

The Rio Olympics may be over but the vibrant vibe of Brazil continues to thrive in Manila as Boteco Brasil opened in the heart of Makati. An intimate gathering hosted by Brazilian owners Fabio Ide, Chef Jaque Borges, DJ Luane De Lima, and artist Arlen Gaspar along with their Filipino partners Luigi Nunez, Gerrine San Diego, Vinson Cosay, Neil Paras, and Jay Bernardo gave guests a taste of the flavours and rich aromas of authentic Brazilian cuisine such as Coxinha, a deep-fried doughy bite that’s stuffed with chicken and Brazilian cream cheese; Pao de Quiejo, a popular savory cheese bread, the famous Churrasco, Picanha na Chapa steaks with Feijoada, a black bean stew mixed with pork and sausage served with Brazilian rice, kale, orange slices, banana and fried cassava. Some of the VIP guests such as Ruffa Guttierez, Isa Calzado, Rocio Olbes, Cristalle Belo Henares, Hideo Muraoka, Fatima Rabago, Jacque Depasquier, Carlo and Cat Antonio were seen grooving to the music provided by DJ Luane de Lima. Overwhelmed with the reception of the guests, Fabio Ide enthuses, “Brazil is such a melting pot of colors, languages and cultures, and our cuisine reflects that beautiful mix. We want to share that experience with the Filipinos. The food here is as real and as authentic as it gets!”
