Do you remember the early 2000s when having clothing from Armani Exchange (or A|X for short) was the ultimate sign of coolness? The beloved luxury brand was killing it with their streetwear fashion in shocking colors, heavily covered with their signature logo. For this week’s beauty break, we look at the new offerings from the brand’s Spring-Summer 2018 collection. Yes, you heard that right: Armani Exchange is still around, and they’re stepping up the coolness factor.
Sticking to their roots by maximizing the use of their iconic logo, the Armani Exchange has just released a playful desert-themed campaign. The brand has also brought in three new young brand ambassadors who are the definition of cool. They are rebellious It-Girl Cara Delevingne, esteemed Chinese actor Li Yifenge, and internationally famous Dutch DJ Martin Garrix.
For the women’s collection, the brand is bringing out a more feminine version of streetwear for the hot months. Inspired by sportswear for the active and casual individual, the line is filled with Maxi-logo t-shirts, leggings, and short dresses. Appropriate fabrics have been used to achieve this athletic feeling. Other characteristics of the new releases are metallic shimmer, banding, and pipping to reflect the silhouettes of the young and vibrant sports woman. There is also an evident use of denim in skinny jeans, baggy trousers, and different versions of degrade washes.
On the other hand, the men’s collection tries to capture the “urban attitude with a denim soul.” Armani Exchange’s menswear line for this year is devoted to young people living in the big cities of the world. Following the trend of streetwear, the brand continues to print the large A|X logo on t-shirts, hoodies and men’s leggings.
