An Expression of Sophistication: Bottega Veneta’s New Knot Eau Absolue Fragrance is a Symbol of the Brand’s Rich History - Luxe Living

The Bottega Veneta Knot has been a symbol of the brand since first being introduced in the 1990s. The two golden knots became the fashion house’s identity, allowing them to no longer use a logo to distinguish themselves in the market. When the minaudière clutch was introduced to the market, it featured the emblematic piece as the bag’s clasp. Its popularity began to grow within fashion circles and Bottega Veneta decided that as they progressed forward, so would the Knot. Over the years it began appearing in different variations across multiple collections and seasons.

“One of my favorite things to design each season is the Knot. It’s crazy, really that this simple little box shape, so defined in space and functionality, lends itself to endless creative possibilities. I have compared it to blank canvas because I really do believe there are infinite variations possible. And it is the fact of being limited that makes one so creative,” shared Creative Director Thomas Maier about the timeless emblem.

In 2014, the brand decided to introduce a new fragrance inspired by the Knot and minaudière clutch, instantly adding an engrossing, new chapter to the symbol’s story. The Knot eu de Parfum was introduced by the brand as “the perfect marriage of understated luxury and fragrance in the world of Bottega Veneta.” The bottle pays homage to the brand’s Italian heritage, drawing inspiration from Venetian glasswork and the traditional Italian carafe, combining clean lines and rounded curves with the hand-finished Knot cap that makes the product instantly recognizable as Bottega Veneta.

As the fragrance began reaching collector’s status, it was only fitting that the luxury house introduced an updated version called the Knot Eau Absolue. Available in stores now, the new varietal has enhanced the elegance of the original scent by infusing notes that they feel captures true sophistication. Its original floral fragrance remains with notes of lavender and orange blossom. The difference between the previous Knot eu de Parfum and the Knot eau Absolue is the additional complexity of sweet jasmine. When used, the fragrance also begins to intensifying, eventually reaching a climax base veil of precious myrrh. The scent finishes with the type of aroma the brand wishes would echo true luxury. The newer bottles are also recast in a dark golden hue to reflect the precious quality of the fragrance.

Creative Director Tomas Maier has continued his collaboration with master perfumer Daniela Adrier with the Knot eau Absolue. In accordance to Bottega Veneta’s mission to create only the best products, the pair have ensured that only the finest artisan hands are involved in the creation of the fragrance. They have also sourced the most premium of raw ingredients during the creating process. Surely, the new Bottega Veneta Knot eau Absolue will reach legendary status as its predecessor did. Not only for its handcrafted bottles, but also the liquid gold it carries.

Bottega Veneta is located at Greenbelt 4 and Shangri-La Plaza Easy Wing.
